Just a reminder, your nutritional requirements should evolve as your goal changes. While you should always abide by key founding principles, your choices and flexibility can change as the context does. . . For instance with myself, my current goal is Hypertrophy and a calorie surplus. My nutrition is vastly different in style now versus when dieting. In a surplus I want food palatability to be moderate to high, food volume to be lowered and energy density to be elevated. . . Simply, if my food is tasty and easier to consume, it better supports my goal as I can eat more. Excessive food volume and fibre would actually be somewhat counter productive to the goal. Of course I still want to achieve my nutritional essentials though to support being healthy. . . With that said, my nutritional flexibility is very high and I have the option to be more impulsive and reactive if I wish. My calorie budget just allows this to be the case. However, ironically if I’m not proactive enough with my nutritional planning and don’t track my intake, I fall too far behind and struggle to hit my macro targets. I don’t need to track to live at maintenance though. . . Conversely, during a dieting phase my nutritional strategy evolves. Here I would want food palatability to be lowered because we’re more prone to overeating delicious things. Additionally, I want food volume to rise along with sufficient protein and fibre to aid satiety. My choices here are on average more nutrient dense and less energy dense. I’m far more strategic in my choices, much more proactive and unlikely to consume delicious unknown calories like in the picture here. It’s called an Eggette FYI - basically a waffle with ice cream 😋. . . This switch in nutritional style again supports my goal and allows dieting to become easier. This is why the notion of good foods and bad foods is hilariously short sighted. For some people, a “good” food for them is a “bad” food for another. When it comes to nutrition, think critically and be savvy

My low carb tomato and cheese with low carb veg. I was supposed to have this with courgette noodles but the zoodles were out of date so we just had the sauce instead. And that is it - I've done it! I had planned a fast day for yesterday by 2pm I knew it wasn't the right day. Today I woke up in a different mind set and kept myself busy, the 3pm monster did say hello - tiredness more than anything, an oxo did the trick. I had in my head to come in at 800 calories but I've come in about 620 calories. I'm taking that and running. In large skillet heat the oil. Add chicken breasts and cook.⁣⁣ Season with s+p then set aside. Once cooled shred using 2 forks. ⁣ In the same pan add in onion and cook until translucent. Today, my goal was between 14 & 15km. I have to start to reduce my distance cause Lille half marathon is in 2 weeks. But today, I didn’t really enjoy my run. A lot of wind, really a lot, creating some difficulties to breathe correctly. A little pain in my ankle. Nothing really important, but just enough to make this run really hard, and not really fun. But I reached my goal, that’s the most important. Time to rest now and to take care of my ankle, to be sure to not be injured before Lille half marathon.
