SMOOTHIE BOWL: banana, coconut and dragon fruit! So my friend is coming over today and a lot of people would just fall out of their healthy streak and each a bunch of junk food as that’s what is seen as ‘having fun,’ in our day and age. But this DOESNT have to be the case, when your friends come over have healthy snacks like hummus and veges, or lentil chips, bliss balls and raw desserts! The options are endless, I recommend @loving_earth chocolate ! You are not constructed to eating 100% perfect all of the time, treat yourself! Or find a healthier alternative. In no way am I saying you can’t eat your chocolate and chips, but just do it in moderation. Homemade nut butter... 🌻🥜 So many "health" snacks are packed with peanut (or another nut) butter. Have you ever looked at the nutritional information to see what you're really eating? 🌻🥜 Unless you buy 100% nut butter it's probably got added sugar, vegetable oil of unknown origin (probably cheap and nasty) and salt. Have you also noticed that 100% nut butter is often much more expensive? 🌻🥜 I love this nut and seed combination and so does the family... 2 cups roasted peanuts 1 cup roasted almonds 1 cup roasted sunflower seeds 1 tbs honey or maple syrup (optional - you might opt for this if you haven't had 100% nut butter before and slowly decrease the amount over time) 🌻🥜 Blend the nuts/seeds in a food processor until they form the butter consistency you like. (You need a powerful food processor for this or you might burn out the motor!) Once you have the right consistency add the honey/maple syrup. Baked berry oatmeal cups. 3 cups of quick oats 2 cups water 3 eggs 1 tbsp vanilla 1 1/2 tbsp of cinnamon 1 tbsp baking powder 1/2 cup stevia or sweetener Whatever your favorite berries are (I used frozen raspberries and blueberries) Muffin tin liners Preheat oven to 350. Mix oats with water and eggs. Add other ingredients (minus berries). Measure out muffin tins 3/4 the same at full. This recipe made 20 muffins for me. Top with favourite berries and give a little stir to get the oat mixture sticking to it. I only did this to ensure I had an equal amount of berries in each muffin. Bake for 20 minutes. Note: these are not going to be the same density as a regular muffin. They will be slightly spongier. Try this healthy recipe for food cart-style chicken salad with white sauce! INGREDIENTS: FOR THE CHICKEN: 24 ounces about 4 large boneless, skinless chicken thighs, fat trimmed Juice of 1/2 lemon 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 1/4 teaspoons ground cumin 1 teaspoon olive oil 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1 teaspoon oregano 3/4 teaspoon sweet paprika 1/2 teaspoon turmeric WHITE YOGURT SAUCE (MAKES 1 1/4 CUPS): 1 cup whole milk yogurt 2 tablespoons mayonnaise 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon sugar 1/8 teaspoon black pepper FOR THE SALAD: 6 cups chopped iceberg or romaine lettuce 2 medium tomatoes, quartered 1/2 small red onion, sliced prepared mild harissa, optional for drizzling INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Season the chicken with lemon juice, garlic, cumin, oil, salt and spices. Set aside at least 15 minutes, or as long as overnight. 2. Combine the ingredients for the white yogurt sauce and refrigerate. 3. When ready to cook, heat a large nonstick griddle or skillet over medium high heat. When hot, add the chicken and leave until the bottom is completely browned, about 5 minutes before flipping. 4. Cook on the other side for another 4 to 5 minutes, until browned. 5. Reduce the heat to low and let the chicken continue cooking, about 10 minutes, until just about cooked through in the thickest parts (no worries if it’s not completely cooked). 6. Set aside on a cutting board and chop the chicken into thin strips and add back to the pan to brown and finish cooking, 8 to 10 minutes over medium heat. 7. Assemble the salad by dividing the lettuce, tomato and red onion. 8. Top with chicken and drizzle with yogurt sauce (this is your dressing) and harissa, if desired. . https://whyweight.tv

Healthy 🥦 does NOT equal boring 🙅🏻‍♀️ • This week I will be having my shakeology (breakfast), a breakfast casserole (morning snack/meal), spaghetti squash with springy, bacon and goat cheese (lunch), and turkey burgers with tzatziki sauce on lettuce wrap (dinner). And all I have to do to cook this week is make my shake for breakfast and cook my turkey burger for dinner. • People tell me all the time they don’t have time to meal prep or they don’t know how to meal prep. Well guess what...when I first started I didn’t know what I was doing either! 🤪 And I thought it would be too hard and take too long and all the excuses under the sun. • And if I’m being real I still struggle to make the time to get it done on Sundays (hence why I sometimes have to do it Monday evenings). But honestly...making the time to prep on Sunday saves so much time during the week. And having everything prepped and ready makes it that much easier to stay on track. • The keys to a successful meal prep are simple...plan out your meals for the week and make a shopping list. And pick things that you enjoy eating. Healthy doesn’t mean boring! You can make and prep healthy stuff with great intentions...but if you don’t like the food, then the odds of you staying on plan all week are slim to none. • So don’t worry about being perfect. De porotos aduki, si, de legumbres enteras, sin harinas ni azúcares, ningún alimento de origen animal, por lo cual es VEGANO y SINTACC, así que prácticamente es apto para todo público, por favor haganlo, quiero ver sus fotos 😊 🍫Brownies de Porotos 🍫Ingredientes: 3 tazas de Porotos Aduki cocidos, 50 gr de nueces, esencia de vainilla c/n, Cacao Amargo en polvo 3 cdas, 8 sobres de edulcorante @_hileret Zucra/Stevia, 2 cdas de aceite de girasol, 1 cda de polvo para hornear. 🍫Procedimiento: dejar en remojo los porotos en agua durante al menos 8 hs (una taza y media secos), cocinar en abundante agua, hasta que estén blandos, pisar con pisapapas o procesar con minipimmer. Agregar el cacao, edulcorante, esencia, aceite, y polvo de hornear, homogeneizar, agregar nueces picadas groseramente. Disponer en placa mediana para horno previamente aceitada y enharinada (el grosor debe ser de 1,5 cm aprox), llevar a horno moderado durante 25-30 min al menos.
