This. Just to put something in perspective for you, I dont get to workout until my daughter goes to sleep at 8pm. I'm tired, I'm worn out. Some how I manage to scrap together the last bit of energy I have left after cleaning, cooking, chasing a toddler and puppy around, and managing my small business. I do it. I put in the work 6 days a week. 👌 . Today I was dreading my workout. On mondays it has been total body core workouts. I have felt like I havent seen as much improvement in my strength and stamina as I'd like (its there- just not as much as I wanted). But today... this is what I told myself. 👇 . No one is making me do this. This is not a punishment. I wont get in trouble if I dont do it. I am choosing to do it, every single day. I'm choosing to take care of my body even though it's up there with some of the hardest things I've ever done. I went into it with the attitude that all I needed to do was finish. To get through it. 🏅 . Guess what?? I surprised myself! I didnt have to modify almost any of the moves (I had to modify 2 moves: tricep pushups and side plank knee pulls with a resistance loop). That's saying something because even when I was in the best shape I had ever been (while I was in the navy) I couldnt have done what I did tonight. . . There is no finish lines. Yes we set goals and we achieve them. But then you make more goals. Bigger and more challenging goals! It's about being the best version of yourself, the healthiest version and the happiest version. 🤟 it's about taking care of yourself.🏆 . You spend your WHOLE day doing all these things for other people. I know I do! Even though I'm tired, I still put in an hour of work for ME, and my body. I knew this would be a challenge because I've carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists, which makes it difficult to hold grip and painful to put pressure on my hands. I told my trainer @junglefitnessja my goal and he assured me I could do it, but he always warned it would take alot of work, be painful and that I would have to be icing my hands nightly, always wearing my brace and practicing wrist flexor movements. I got pull ups every day, practicing different pull up cues and doing different back strengthening exercises. Big girls don't cry, but I may have shed a few tears due to the swelling, tiredness and numbness of my hands along the way. (But let's not repeat this part, I've a reputation to uphold lol) Roughly 3 months later and I'm much further than I was when I started, unable to do one... this is progress to me. Hawaii Ultra Trifecta ✔️. I have one word for this weekend - EPIC!. . Saturday’s Ultra was amazingly good. The terrain was super challenging with large chunks virtually not runnable. We spent time scrambling through steamy jungle with mud so thick it tried to steal your shoes and single track so steep at times you had to climb from tree to tree and up along ropes. We spent kms wading along creeks and climbing down tiny waterfalls. We raced past movie sets and spectacular cliff faces with the amazingly blue ocean in the background. The heat and humidity was absolutely out of control and definitely the hardest part of the whole weekend. . Day 2 super and sprint were TOUGH, my feet were full of blisters and held together by tape so walking at all was painful and getting shoes on again was probably the toughest obstacle of the day. They were the slowest super and sprint I’ve ever done but I loved taking my time and getting some photos of the scenery. Thank you @spartanrace for another fantastic event!!! I no longer want to pay attention to the number on the scale. Instead I want to focus on how I feel and how comfortable I am in my own skin ✨👙 . My weight has fluctuated so much over the past year and a half or so. In June of 2018 I was 134.8 lbs. In August of 2018 I was 144 lbs. In June of 2019 I was 153 lbs. In August of 2019 I am 146 lbs. Seeing that number grow only made me feel like shit and I wasn’t doing much about it. I was still lifting, but that was about it. I don’t want to be consumed by the number on the scale and trying to go back down to what I was a year ago. I’m happy with the person I see in the mirror, but there’s always room for improvement. . I’ve been eating a good diet, doing my cardio, drinking plenty of water, and lifting 5x a week. I do all this because I love it and it genuinely makes me happy knowing I’m working on myself. I feel good in the inside. I don’t want to care about the number anymore. I want to care about how I feel. This morning my coach asked in our accountability group, “What is your Why?” We each shared why we started this health journey and what keeps us motivated. For me, it’s simple. - I want to set an example to my husband and kids that making health a priority is so important. Our kids, especially, learn how to treat themselves by the way we treat ourselves. - I want to be fit and healthy to lessen my chances of inheriting diabetes, high cholesterol and cancer, which runs on both sides of my family. - I want to have energy to keep up with our kids’ activities and to be able to live life in the arena, alongside them. All of us lead a busy lifestyle, but self care is so vital if we’re going to be equipped to handle the things life throws our way. The cool thing is that it doesn’t take much time. I’ve found effective workouts I can do in 20-30 mins a day from home. That’s quicker than it would even take me to drive to a gym, completely eliminating excuses. And I’ve found nutrition plans that are simple and doable for my family. If you are looking to get started or for some direction, 📲send me a message! It might be a good fit for you, too.

Finally back on a routine, had a great workout it was back, biceps and abs. Finished with laying biceps curls to sort of activate the abs and jump straight into crunches. Did i have to do that? No, but did it feel good? Hell yes 🤣 Laying biceps curls 3/8-12 Then over to the studio for abs Crunches 20 Ankle biters 20 each side Leg raises 20 Elbow to knees 20 each side Repeat 3-4 times Make sure you stretch your abs after each set!
