I don't know what it is about this picture, there's nothing incredibly amazing about the composition, it's a bad time of day for lighting, there aren't any epic mountains or oceans in the background, it's not a picture of IGs hottest landmarks. I think it's the boat, and the layers upon layers, upon layers of paint. It shows the character, the wear and tear of it. It's the way I like all things in the world. I like older houses, especially ones built from stone and beam work, that have been well used and worn. My favorite people in life are those who have weathered heavy storms and have come out the other side a little worse for wear but a bit wiser and hopefully kinder.
Anyway, I'm counting down the days and I've got two left until I'm on Bowen Island for the upcoming @triplit conference. I'll be learning from the best travel photographers in the world (@chelseakauai, @emmett_sparling, @samkolder and more) and I'm beyond excited. For those that don't know I'm super fortunate to have received a Bursary from @fortlangleyair allowing me to go on this amazing adventure. Fort Langley also did an interview with me on their blog, link is in my profile.
