Can I really teach my kids character by reading a few books? You may be asking this about our new Building Character Through Books series, so let's clarify something...
💫 It's not a magic formula. We can't promise perfect kids. (Let us know if you find that formula!) But we can promise something else. This curriculum will give you opportunities to help your kids understand application of character traits.
It's not about memorizing for recall. And it's not about behavior correction. 👉 Here's the key: Building Character Through Books is about connection....various kinds of it.
Your children's connection to knowledge about choices and consequences. Your connection with them as you engage in rich discussions. Your family's connection to shared knowledge that becomes a part of your family culture. ❤️ (That last one is HUGE when it comes to character-building.)
When your children understand what it looks like, feels like, sounds like to make one choice over another, it becomes meaningful and applicable. They won't always practice it perfectly, of course, but those connections are part of their knowledge that helps guide them.
That's what happens when you intentionally engage with great stories.
We've been saying this series is to help you Read, Explore, & Discuss stories. We could also say it's to help your family Read, Explore, & REMEMBER them.
We hope your family will be a part of our Courage study this fall! See our profile link for courage bundle details.
