I CAN’T BELIEVE IT, in 10 months I completed my New Year’s Resolution: to RUN 24 MARATHONS in 2019 🏃🏽‍♀️ . . . Anyways, today I completed my 47th marathon at CIM: California International Marathon. This was my first time running since 3 weeks ago because I decided to rest my body. The first miles were so hard, I felt sooo out of shape but as the double digit miles kept coming, I felt better. . . I’m so happy my body was able to do this feat regardless of everything: life, jobs, mental breakdowns, mentally exhausted, and injuries. The point is I will do whatever it takes because I’m stubborn. Btw, who says this course is flat, you’re a liar 🤥 lmao. Sadly, it didn’t end up raining but the good thing about that is that I got to wear @pshin8670 shirt 🤩

Increasing the range of movement of an exercise can increase the difficulty of an exercise without increasing load alone. - We spoke about single leg romanian deadlifts in our previous post, 📹here is Tom performing weighted reverse drop lunges from an elevated surface. Single leg static split squats and lunges are cycled in all our client’s programs, and are regressed or progressed based on their current and projected capabilities. The reverse drop lunge is one of the more difficult variations that are performed by some of our advanced clients. They require the ability to control the eccentric during descent, which, when combined with the backward movement, loads the hamstring more than the traditional forward walking lunge variations. The elevation of the front leg increases the range the leg muscles must work through. Therefore both adequate MOBILITY to be able to achieve this depth, and STABILITY to be able to control through the full increased range of movement is essential to get the benefits out of this exercise. - Severe DOMs due after this exercise is particularly common, even for those who have extensive training experience, due to the increased range of movement the muscle works through. - While 1. taking away stability and 2. increasing range is one of our preferred ways of progressing exercises, a client must achieve BOTH adequate mobility and stability within the increased range given. An increase in range without these two pre-requisites increases the risk of performing this exercise and reduces the benefits of increasing the range of an exercise, where a key purpose of this is to progress the client while initially limiting the total loading used. - Here is an example of a regression-progression cycle we often use for unilateral lunge and split squat variations. 1. 90/90 split squat 2. Reverse lunge on floor, alternating or all reps done on one side first 3. Walking lunge with no pausing between reps, but being able to drop straight down every r

🥴 ОТКАЗ 🤤 Тренируйся после "отказа" или как продлить сет для большей эффективности 😎 Одним из способов определить, что ты выкладываешься на тренировке "по полной", является "отказ" 😯. Это состояние, когда мышцы уже не могут выполнить упражнение в рабочей фазе с правильной техникой и полной амплитудой 🧐. Казалось бы, "отказ" - крайняя точка, после которой - единственное что можно сделать, это поставить штангу на стойки 😜. Но есть несколько принципов увеличения интенсивности, которые помогут добиться "отказа" и работать даже после него 👇 1. Читинг. Самая тяжёлая — это стартовая фаза в упражнении. "Читингуя", ты преодолеваешь её при помощи инерции, и дожимаешь вес уже силой мышц. 2. Дроп-сет. Суть в том, что ты уменьшаешь вес отягощения (примерно наполовину), и делаешь ещё максимальное количество повторов упражнения в пампинговой манере. 3. Супер-сет. Супер-сеты — это выполнение друг за другом (без отдыха!) двух разных упражнений для одной мышцы. Чередование разнохарактерных упражнений нисколько не утомляет психику. 4. Стрип-сет. После достижения отказа, уменьшаешь вес снаряда на 20% и выполняешь ещё несколько повторений. Затем снова уменьшаешь вес и делаешь ещё пару повторов. И так, пока не дойдёшь до пустого грифа. 5. Частичные повторения. Когда выполнить упражнение в полном объёме уже невозможно, сделай пару повторов с частичной амплитудой движения, добиваясь жжения в мышцах. 6. Негативная фаза. Не можешь работать в позитивной фазе, обратись к негативу. С помощью партнёра преодолевай концентрическую фазу движения и как следует выкладывайся в эксцентрической. 7. Форсированные повторы. Здесь тебе также понадобится напарник. С его помощью выполни ещё несколько повторений упражнения в конце подхода. 8. Отдых-пауза. После отказного повторения сделай небольшую паузу (5-15 с) и попробуй выполнить ещё пару повторов. Это довольно изматывающая принципы, существенно нагружающие не только мышцы 🥴, но и нервную систему, поэтому следует помнить о перетренированности 🤤 мышц и использовать их не более 3-4 недель 🙂 Ставь 👍, если понравилась статья 📰, записывайся на тренировки 💪, если хочешь всё это испытать на себе 😅
