48 hours in Beijing 🇨🇳 Field notes:
-Beijing is an imposing city, a hodgepodge of modern and traditional architecture, arts, and cuisine. -City streets are all surprisingly well-lined with large elm, willow, and gingko trees, making walking feel comfortable. -The buildings and sidewalks are massive monoliths, making the mass amounts of people seem regular in scale. -Public bathrooms are plentiful and free. -I imagine getting around without someone that can communicate in/read Chinese would be quite difficult because all the alternatives to Google/Yelp/car/bike-share apps are in Chinese.
